With reference to your letter of the 23rd July,
33541/15) and enclosures, relative to the shipment of
aniline dyes to French Indo-China, and indigo to Manila, I
am directed by the Board of Trade to state, for Mr Secretary
Bonar Law's information, that so far as they are concerned
there is no objection to permission being given for the
exportation from Hong-Kong to French Indo-China of moderate
quantities of dyestuffs, but that they are not prepared to
recommend that exportation of such dyestuffs to the Philippine
Islands should be allowed.
